The process of selecting microchannel heat exchangers is standard – the customer provides the initial data, and the supplier, using special software, calculates and offers one or more models that meet the required conditions. Usually, buyers send questionnaires to several enterprises and then select from the proposed one.
Process of selecting
You can focus solely on the price of the heat exchanger and choose the cheapest from the proposed one. It is possible, but not necessary. In addition to low cost, important factors are also long-term operation, frequency of maintenance, and reliability. Suppliers always have the ability to manipulate the parameters and, accordingly, the price.
Therefore, in addition to an attractive price, when selecting a heat exchanger, it is important to pay attention to the technical characteristics, which in the future will ensure the normal, comfortable, reliable operation of the product.
Technical operating conditions
When choosing a heat exchanger, it is important to understand in what conditions it will work.
- The type of environment. Steam, water, oil, and gas are usually used as heat carriers. The structure of the device will affect the further selection since aggressive substances require increased strength properties of the device.
- When using non-standard media, the values of heat capacity, viscosity, and thermal conductivity of the heat carrier may be required.
- Working medium consumption. You need to know what mass of the working medium passes through the heat exchange unit in a certain period of time. To calculate this, the density of the medium is multiplied by its volume.
- Temperatures of media at the outlets and inlets of the heat exchanger. The greater this difference, the cheaper and smaller the device.
Before selecting a heat exchanger, you need to know exactly what pressure will be in the system and indicate it to the supplier.
